Pharmacy First

Pharmacy First is an NHS service that allows you to get advice and treatment for 7 common conditions directly from your pharmacist, without needing to see a GP. Conditions covered include sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

Before your appointment

  • Bring details of your symptoms, how long they have been present, and any medicines you already take.
  • The pharmacist will assess whether Pharmacy First is suitable and whether treatment is clinically appropriate.
  • If symptoms need urgent or GP care, the pharmacy team will advise the next step.
